After Border Reivers killing, Scotland has 2 teams only...
Now there are 19 teams in Challenge Cup.
Who will be the 20th team?

good question - but i think they might be a bit busy making sure there is a Heineken Cup and European Challenge Cup next year before they start worrying about those details.

Assuming everything else works out (and we do in fact have a ECC next season), I would expect an extra Italian team. This season, only 6 of the Super10 participated (due to financial considerations, if memory serves). 7th Italian team this season is Capitolina to join GrAN Parma and Overmach Parma, plus one or two of Treviso, Viadana, Calvisano and Petrarca. Two or three of the last going into the HC.

what if only one scottish team participates in the Heineken Cup and the other one participates in the Challenge Cup?

Surely it would not be fair to have 2 guaranteed places for only 2 clubs!

The extra place in the Heineken Cup could be given to a Top 14 or Guin Prem team so that both France and England have 7 teams each.
